Enter your pie in the 20th Annual Kendall County Fair Apple Pie Contest\, being held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday\, September 6\, 2026\, in the Homestead Heritage Exhibit Hall. \nPie and recipe check-in will take place that morning from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Homestead Heritage Exhibit Hall Office. The entry fee is $5 per pie\, and participants may enter more than one pie as long as a different recipe is used for each entry. \n\nRules and Regulations\n\nContest is open to all residents of Kendall County\, except for professional bakers.\nCan entry more than one pie into contest as long as a different recipe.\nEntry Fee per Entered Pie Is $5.00 Each.\nPie(s) must be home made from scratch to include filling and crust. Pie(s) must be freshly baked in a 9″inch disposable baking tin. Pie(s) must be 100% apples. No other fruits or ingredients. No store bought canned apple pie filling or store bought pie shells or rolled crust allowed.\nPie(s) must be crusted and /or crumb crusted topping.\nPie(s) recipe(s) must be TYPED or LEGIBILTY HAND WRITTEN or PRINTED on a 5″x 8″ index card. All ingredients must be listed and entrants name must not be listed on index card.\nPie(s) and recipe must be checked in on Sunday-September 6\, 2026 from 8:00 A.M. till 10:00 A.M. Bring Pie and recipe to the Homestead Heritage Exhibit Hall Office for check in.\nJudging begins at 2:00 P.M. and is open to the public.\nThe Kendall County Fair Association will select a panel of judges. Judges will use a scoring scale point system of 1-5\, (With 5 being the highest point) to assess entries with a perfect score of 100. Pie(s) will be judged before initial slicing on overall appearance for 15 points and 10 points for creativity. After the pie(s) are sliced they will be judged on crust for 20 points\, 25 points for filling and 30 points for flavor. Scoring will be sole responsibility of the judges and the judge’s results will be final. Judges score sheets will be available to entrants upon request after contest is over and winner s has been announced.\nAll entrants are asked to attend a Group Contestant Picture after the contest.\nAll entrants are asked to donate their pie(s) for public tasting after the contest. Put your favorite homemade recipe to the test and enter the Kendall County Fair Hot Sauce & Salsa Contest on Friday\, September 4\, 2026. Just remember—the judges need to be able to taste it\, so don’t make it too hot to handle! \n\nEntry Rules & Requirements\n\nContest is open to all residents of Kendall County and must be prepared by the exhibitor as entered.\nA $5.00 entry fee per exhibitor is required and is non-refundable.\nOnly the first 20 entries will be accepted for judging.\nHot sauce/salsa must be homemade from scratch. All entries will be refrigerated until judging and People’s Choice judging.\nParticipants may enter more than one hot sauce/salsa into the contest as long as a different recipe is used for each entry.\nAll hot sauce/salsa entered must include the recipe used. The recipe must be typed or legibly handwritten or printed on the Ingredient List Form. The entrant’s name must not be listed on the Ingredient List Form.\nAll hot sauce/salsa entries must be submitted in clean pint Mason jars. Lids must be rust-free.\n\nOne pint for Main Judging\nOne pint for People’s Choice Judging\nApplicants are required to bring two (2) pint Mason jars of hot sauce/salsa: \nAll Mason jars will be returned to competitors after the close of contest judging. For food safety reasons\, all entries not consumed during People’s Choice judging will be disposed of. Only the Mason jars will be returned to competitors.\n\n\nAll hot sauce/salsa entered for Main or People’s Choice judging will be labeled with the entry number only.\n\n\nEntry Check-In Date\, Time & Place\n\nFriday\, September 4\, 2026 \nCheck-in will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. No entries will be accepted after 12:00 noon.\nEntry check-in will take place at the Homestead Heritage Exhibit Hall at the fairgrounds.\n\n\nJudging & Awards\n\n\nJudging will be closed and conducted in a private area where only the judges are allowed. Judging will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday\, September 4\, 2026. Winners will be announced immediately following judging. \nThe Kendall County Fair Association will select a panel of judges to evaluate entries based on aroma\, color\, flavor\, heat and texture. Judges will use a scoring scale of 1–5\, with 5 being the highest\, for a possible perfect score of 25 points. Scoring will be the sole responsibility of the judges\, and their results will be final. Judges’ score sheets will be available to competitors upon request after the contest is over and winners have been announced. \n\nAll winners are required to attend a photo shoot after the contest.\nPlacement Awards:\n\nFirst Place — $75.00 + Rosette Ribbon\nSecond Place — $50.00 + Rosette Ribbon\nThird Place — $25.00 + Rosette Ribbon\n\n\nAll competitors who do not place will receive a participation ribbon.\nThe judges’ decisions on winning entries are final.\n\n\nPeople’s Choice Judging & Awards\nTasting chips will be provided to individuals participating in the People’s Choice judging. \n\nPeople’s Choice judging will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday\, September 4\, 2026\, and is open to the public. DESCRIPTION:Summer Dance Series – Joe Moreno & Midnight Highway Band\nThe Kendall County Fair Association’s Summer Dance Series continues on Saturday\, July 18\, 2026\, with an exciting evening of live country music featuring Joe Moreno & Midnight Highway Band. The evening will also include a special performance by Mark Weber. \nThe event will be held under the Pavilion at the Kendall County Fairgrounds\, located at 1307 River Rd.\, Boerne\, TX 78006. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.\, and the bands will perform from 8:00 p.m. until midnight. \nAdmission is $15 cash per person at the door\, and children ages 8 and under are admitted free. \nGrab your boots\, bring your friends\, and join us for a fun evening of live music\, dancing\, and community. We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor! \n
